Anyone can type a license number into a wholesale form. BuyerClear looks that number up in the register of the state that issued it and shows what it says beside what the buyer entered. Your staff approve or decline in Shopify admin, and access starts once Shopify confirms it. Automatic checks cover 203 license classes from nine authorities in Connecticut, Delaware, New York and Texas. Any other state or class gets a link to the authority's own lookup. Needs a Shopify plan with B2B.
