Shopify app articles

The shorter pieces that sit between the guides and the ranked category hubs. Each one is built on the same data as the rest of the site: the rating, review count, starting price and free plan that every app shows on its public Shopify App Store listing, ranked with the public formula on the methodology page. The text explains the trade-offs; the ranked tables on each page show the current order, so nothing in an article outranks a table.

There are four kinds. Category by industry pieces take one app category and read it through one kind of store: what a fashion brand needs from a returns app is not what a supplement brand needs from one. Comparisons put two widely reviewed apps from the same category side by side with their listed plans, their review patterns and the trade-offs between them, without declaring a winner. Checklists give one role on a merchant team the order in which to install, check and review apps. The monthly new apps piece lists apps launched in the last 60 days that have already collected ten or more reviews, and says what a review count that early can and cannot tell you. Every article names its author and its publication date, links only to pages on this site, and is updated when the listings behind it change.
