When a product is sold out, many shoppers just leave. Stock Alert gives them a Notify Me button to leave their email instead. It tracks your inventory in the background, and when the item is back in stock, each customer gets a restock alert by email. That way you recover lost sales from out-of-stock products without emailing anyone by hand.
